Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Because I'm really trying to focus on reading on book at a time, I decided to start doing this meme on a more regular basis.

The downpour had increased in violence, and these words, striking through a silence on the chancel windows, carried such conviction that, after a momentary hesitation, some of the worshippers slipped forward from their seats on to their knees. Others felt it right to follow their example, and the movement gradually spread until presently everyone was kneeling, from end to end of the cathedral.
-Albert Camus, The Plague, page 95

I borrowed The Plague from a good friend a while ago and never got around to reading it, which is rather uncommon for me. It's one of his favorites, so I'm really looking forward to starting this today (I promised I would return it in two weeks). I don't really know what to expect from this but I've only heard amazing reviews. I picked a completely random passage for this and it makes me excited to read it. I wish I knew what the words were that caused such a powerful reaction from the congregation.

I read The Plague years ago, but I don't remember it well. I'd like to delve into Camus again soon.

I am curious about the name "Aspasia" in your url. That's actually my middle name (needless to say, my parents were kind of history buffs and liked those ancient Greeks) and I don't run across it often. Is that actually your name?

Haven't read any Camus in many years - he's not an "easy" author. Hope you enjoy the book. That's a very intriguing teaser.
Here's mine.

That is a great teaser for being totally random! Mine is at The Crowded Leaf.

All of your teasers look like good reads! I've only read one short story by Camus before and I'm having a great time reading my first Camus novel.

Stephanie: It's not my name, but I love looking up names and meanings. I wanted something that reflected a love of learning. Aspasia means "welcome" which I thought worked well with the word curiosities. You can check it out here: http://www.behindthename.com/name/aspasia
